Goleta, known as “The Good Land” by locals, is located west of Santa Barbara and has a population of approximately 30,000. There is ample opportunity to picnic with friends and family at one of Goleta’s parks, to surf among the locals at the acclaimed Campus Point surf break, or to hike on stunning trails in the surrounding mountains. Miles of bicycle trails make it easy to explore the gorgeous seaside and wooded landscape of Goleta.
A small oceanside town a few miles south of Santa Barbara and Montecito, Carpinteria is overflowing with charm and tranquility. With a population of just over 13,000, this beachy small town is a favorite of surfers and those who want a relaxed lifestyle. Hope Ranch is named after Irishman Thomas Hope, who purchased the land in 1861 for sheep ranching. Hope Ranch is now a community of 773 lots encompassing 1,863 acres. It consists of a broad flat mesa and low rolling knolls broken by a magnificent valley and covered with splendid live oaks.
One of the oldest neighborhoods in the city of Santa Barbara, the Riviera is named for its close resemblance to the Mediterranean coasts of France and Italy, the Riviera bridges the two-mile gap between Sycamore Canyon and Mission Canyon. Most of the topography of the Riviera is relatively steep, making it particularly noteworthy for homes with outstanding views of the City of Santa Barbara, the Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands.
